10 Celebrity Birthday Parties to Choose From for Your Next Bash

Celebrity birthdays are expensive and a little over the top. They can be events that most will not experience. Or will they? Here are 10 top celebrity birthday parties and ideas on how to adjust them to become a doable soiree for you and your own VIP guests.

Paris Hilton's 21st birthday was celebrated with 5 parties. Location? 5 different places around the world and it cost ,000 per person. Now that's how to ring in your 21st! A regular person can also have 5 parties in varying locations. This affordable version, however, requires you to lose the jet travel between each venue. Try a progressive restaurant dining experience. List your favorite/trendiest/new hot spots. Then plan where to have your cocktail, amuse bouche, appetizer, main dish, and finally dessert. Still luxurious yet much more affordable than Paris' price tag.

Jessica Lowndes celebrated her 21st with a Moulin Rouge theme at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. Her guests were dressed up like showgirls straight from the 1800s. There was a tarot card reader, a photo room, cupcakes throughout the suite and a couple of monkeys wandering around. This is doable enough for us non-celebrities. Rent a suite if you can afford it but it's not necessary. Transform your party area to reflect Moulin Rouge. Use a lot of red in your decorations. Use draped fabrics and pillows. Construct a windmill out of crafting paper and hang it on your wall. Look at pictures and feel inspired. If you want to keep the dress standard PG, then have a look at Nicole Kidman's wardrobe from the movie. It's not all corsets and stockings. And have lots of red cupcakes.

Jay-Z had a Scarface theme for his 40th...in the Dominican Republic. There was champagne and caviar. His parents were the guest of honor. To ensure he was the center of attention, he did perform Empire State of Mind. The grand finale of the night included a display of video messages, fireworks at midnight along with synchronized swimmers. But the celebration didn't end there. Next day saw a BBQ brunch and yachting. Ready for your at home version? Well, you can still have champagne and caviar but it'll probably be smaller scale than Jay-Z's catering bill. But I'm sure you won't have 400 guests either. You too can have your parents as the guests of honor and I think that would be really special for them. Video messages can also be put together but it would be ideal if your spouse or friend was in charge of that project. As for the synchronized swimmers and fireworks, you may not want to invest in that on such a grand scale. You can set off those little non-professional type fireworks. Finish off the celebration with a brunch the next day at your home or if you know a great brunch spot, have your VIPs join you there.

Naomi Campbell spent almost 2 million dollars flying friends to Dubai where they indulged in a 3 day celebration. Each day had a different theme. There was the "hip hop" theme, "all white" theme, and "Brazilian samba" theme. I say you too can have a 3 day celebration. And have each day be a theme as well. Have one day be your favorite color theme and dine out at your favorite spot. The next day can also be a Brazilian samba theme and go dancing somewhere in your neighborhood that would have samba music. Your last day can also be a hip hop theme and your big party finale. Have your guests come dressed according to the theme, play that music and dance until you drop.

Beyonce Knowles had her lavish party in The Darby restaurant in New York. It was filled with white orchids and celebrity friends. Your at home version? Many restaurants have a party room that you can book. You don't typically have to pay to use the room but you do have to call in advance to ensure you can reserve it. Bonus, filling it with flowers will be more affordable than filling an entire restaurant.

For Prince William's 24th, Miss Middleton was reported to have organized an "Arabian Nights" themed party. You can certainly have this theme at home. Convert your party space into Morocco. Use fabrics to decorate. Hang a few from the ceiling draping down the wall like a Bedouin tent. You don't have to do the whole room if the fabric is costly, just do the center of the room. Four sections of fabric can work. Check Asian areas in your town as they'll have cheaper fabric than your local chain fabric store. Place lot's of cushions on the floor for seating. Be sure to use warm rich colors. Have middle eastern dishes including pitas with dips, grapes, dried fruits, nuts and a meat platter for guests to enjoy. Put a genie lamp on the refreshment table. Play authentic music in the background. And if you can, hire a belly dancer.

Katy Perry's 25th was a great theme- "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Party guests had to wear white and they left with neon paint splattered all over them. There was candy and Oompah Loompahs everywhere. The entrance was flashing with bright colored lights. You too can have this party at home. Have your guests wear all white but warn them that they might get paint on it. Have neon non-toxic paint. Mix it up a bit and have a drum where you can pour the paint on the tom-tom so when guests beat on it, the paint will splatter all over them. Rent a black light to add a great effect. Have candy and chocolate everywhere.

Britney Spears had a circus theme for her 27th birthday in New York. Her party had jugglers, a man on stilts and carnival concessions. There were circus images projected onto a screen outside. This is an easy theme that can be done at a home party. Finding circus themed decorations will be easy enough as it is popular. Look into hiring jugglers or stilt walkers. Set up carnival concessions like cotton candy, hot dogs and popcorn. Have circus images playing in the background on your tv or computer screen. As the birthday woman/man, you get dibs to dress up as the ringmaster. Encourage your guests to dress up as lion tamers, trapeze artists, contortionists etc. Also, set up some carnival games.

Justin Bieber rang in his 16th in a more classic fashion with bowling, wrestling, pool fun and lot's of cake. You can rent sumo wrestling suits which are really fun to participate in. Start out at the bowling alley then head back to the party place and have a few sumo matches and finish by digging into some cake.

Christina Aguilera's 28th was a "Clockwork Orange" theme party. She was dressed up in a bowler hat, jumpsuit, and the appropriate makeup. There were cotton candy mojitos and an orange birthday cake. Another idea you can recreate at home. Go to your local costume shop to get the wardrobe together. Encourage guests to dress up within the theme too. Serve an orange cake as well.

Your birthday event will be grand with any of these celebrity parties you adapt to fit your budget.
